Srinagar: The Government of India’s interlocutor on Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma, said on Wednesday that he will try his best to meet the Hurriyat Conference leaders.
Following a meeting with CPI(M) leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami at his residence, Sharma told media persons, in response to a suggestion that he “walk an extra mile by talking to Hurriyat”, that he would “try my best to meet Hurriyat leaders”.
Sharma said his meetings with people were “very good”.
“I met many people. I wish that peace returns to Kashmir. I will also try to meet Hurriyat,” Sharma said.
Earlier, Sharma has said that if the Hurriyat wants dialogue, they should come and meet him. The BJP leaders have ruled out any dialogue with the Hurriyat.
