Two LeT hideouts busted in Kangan forests: Police

Ganderbal: Ganderbal Police on Monday claimed to have busted two hide outs of militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) at Najwan forests in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Giving details, SSP Ganderbal in a press briefing said that a joint search operation was launched based on a specific intelligence input Ganderbal police, 42RR and SOG Ganderbal to flush out well concealed hide out of LeT militants and recovery of a large cache of arms ammunition from the forests he said .
“The recovery included one AK-47 magazine, UBGL Thrower 1, UBGL Shells 19, Chinese hand grenade 3, Motor shell 51mm 1, a wireless set, ragged blankets and cooking utensils”, he said.
No one was arrested in this connection, they added.
SSP said that the militants used the track via Bandipora Kupwara from Najwan forest to enter Tral and Srinagar areas.
SSP said that” this route leads militants to enter Srinagar as well as south Kashmir via Tral forests from north Kashmir.
District police and other security forces are closely monitoring the area, he said
