During night raids, police arrest 7 more persons in Sopore

Srinagar: J&K police are continuing raids in Sopore town of Baramulla district and have arrested seven more persons in connection with thrashing of a youth suspected to be a braid chopper.

Reports coming from the northern town, famous for apple production, said that seven persons alleged to have taken part in protests against an attempt of braid chopping on Friday morning in the town during which one youth was beaten up.

Police later claimed that the youth was mentally sick and was “innocent”. On Saturday at least ten persons were arrested by the police in the town and are currently undergoing detention in police station Sopore.
