Veeri inspects dev works in Bijbehara

ANANTNAG: Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, A R Veeri Sunday visited Bijbehara constituency to take stock of various ongoing developmental works.
The minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer PMGSY Kashmir, ADC Anantnag, Exen R&B, SDM Bijbehara, and other concerned officers.
During his visit, the minister inspected the progress work of 10.8 km Bijbehara – Langanbal road (Kirkadal to Katu Sirhama) via Mehand Vupzan. The work is executed by PMGSY with a sanctioned cost of Rs 1194.81 lacs. The minster was informed that so far 34 percent work has been completed on the said road. Likewise, 30 percent work has also been completed on 5.80 km Thajiwara to Kanzgam road via Laribal. The road is getting constructed at a sanctioned cost of Rs.687.18 lac by PMGSY.
The minister directed the engineers to expedite the pace of work on these roads and complete them in the stipulated time period.
Later, he inspected the progress work on beautification of banks of river Jehlum and Suspension Bridge near Dara Shikoh Park, executed at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.25 cr. The concerned engineer apprised the minister regarding the work done on beautification of Jehlum River. He added that the work on the said project will be completed within six months.
