SRINAGAR: The battle of Karbala teaches us freedom, humanity, bravery and courage and the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (RA) and his family is a historic event that no human can ever forget.
This was stated by Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leaders while addressing a ‘Hussaini Majlis’ held at Basant Bagh, Gaw Kadal on Saturday. The leaders included Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Jamal, Muhammad Afzal Sheikh, Muhammad Hanif, Imtiyaz Ahmad and others.
A party statement issued here said that JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik was scheduled to participate in the Majlis but he was arrested by police on Friday and has been shifted to Srinagar central jail.
While addressing the gathering, JKLF leaders said, “To promote religious and sectarian brotherhood and unity among Muslims, we have been doing our bit and will continue our efforts in future too. The battle of Karbala teaches us to remain steadfast against tyrants and support the oppressed. This battle provides us a lesson to fight for freedom, truth and justice. Therefore whosoever claims to be a follower of Imam Hussain (RA) should support the oppressed and fight against today’s tyrants and tyranny.”
“The struggle in Kashmir is also a continuation of Karbala as people are fighting for justice and truth and falsehood is trying to suppress them by force and might. In this struggle the oppressed are less in number, their equipments are inferior and their apparent conditions is worse but their struggle is just and based on truth. Therefore, it is obligatory upon everyone who attaches himself with Hussain (RA) and Hussainiyat to be with the oppressed and against the oppressors.”
JKLF leaders said history is witness to the fact that in the battle between truths and falsehoods, truth despite its worldly shortcomings always emerges victorious. “Insha-Allah in Kashmir also, truth will prevail and Kashmir will surely join the nations that are independent and free,” they said.
