Man held with fake currency in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Police has arrested a man and seized fake currency from his possession in Srinagar, officials said.
A statement issued by police said that Police Station Shaheed Gunj received an information that a man was possessing fake currency and is trying to spend that near Jahangir Chowk.
A police team reached the spot and apprehended the person identified as Gulzar Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah resident of Tral Payeen, the statement said adding that fake currency of rupees 29,000 was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 75/2017 under section 489 C, 420 RPC has been registered.
