Srinagar: After another long day of questioning by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, business leader Yasin Khan and Kashmir University scholar Aala Fazli have been asked to appear again on Thursday to face questioning for a fourth consecutive day, sources told Kashmir Reader.
NIA spokesperson Alok Mittal declined to comment on whether the duo was asked to appear again on Thursday. “We cannot say it,” Mittal told this newspaper over phone from New Delhi. “It is up to the investigators whether to call anyone for questioning again or not.”
Mittal told Kashmir Reader that “two people, including a PhD scholar and a trader, were examined today.”
Aala Fazli and Yasin Khan went to New Delhi on Monday in response to the NIA summons and have since been there, questioned every day in the “terror funding case” that the NIA is investigating.
Sources said that Fazli appeared for questioning at about 11am and came out from the NIA offices at 7:15pm. “He has been asked to come again on Thursday,” the sources said.
Khan, who leads the Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), appeared for questioning at 1pm today. “He was told by the NIA to come around 12:30,” said a spokesperson of the KEA. “On Tuesday, he was asked by the NIA to come at 11am.”
“The questioning of Khan started around 1pm,” he said. “He came out of the NIA offices around 8pm and has been asked to attend the questioning on Thursday once again.”
Khan has been accompanied by a team of three traders to New Delhi.
