SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Monday directed the state government to apprise the court about the establishment of Juvenile Justice Boards and Child Welfare Committees in the state by next date of hearing.
The court had asked the government to submit its response on September 25 but the state counsel Hashim Hussain informed the court that in this connection a meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary with all concerned was scheduled to be held on September 27, 2017.
“As the meeting is supposed to take place on the said date, we direct the state to place minutes of the meeting before court on next hearing,” the court said.
The Division Bench of Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmad and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey adjourned the matter and directed the state to come up with proper report on next hearing.
On previous hearing state had informed court that juvenile justice boards and child welfare committees will be set up in each district of the state.
