Collision with police vehicle leaves biker dead in Shopian

Shopian: A young motor cyclist, Qasid Mushtaq was killed while his pillion rider was seriously injured when their two-wheeler collided with Rakshak vehicle of police at Kanipora village on Sunday evening in Shopian.
A resident of Aliyalpora Shopian, Qasid was the lone son of his parents while the pillion-rider, Adil Manzoor resident of Kanipora Shopian was his close friend. The injured was referred to bone and joints hospital of Barzula Srinagar, family sources said.
According to police officials, an accident took place at Kanipora Shopian between a police vehicle ( Rakshak) and a motorcycle in which two persons got injured and later one of them identified as Qasid Mushtaq resident of Aliyalpora Shopian died.
A Case FIR No 253/2017 has been registered in police station Shopian. Driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody and investigation is going on, police said.
Clashes were reported from Alyalpora against the death Qasid Mushtaq. Eyewitnesses told Kashmir Reader that youth were pelting stones on deployed government forces, and forces were retaliating with pellets and tear smoke shells. Eyewitness told Kashmir Reader that two boys were injured with pellets in Alyalpora. Several vehicles were damaged by angry protesters to enforce a shutdown in the area.
Meanwhile all the business establishments and shops remained closed in Shopian on the shut down call of traders federation of Kashmir.
