Admin tells Wadwan youth not to demolish structures

Budgam: Youth in Wadwan village here are demolishing “illegally-erected” structures, even as the district administration has cautioned them against taking law into their own hands.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam Harun Malik told Kashmir Reader that the owners of these structures should themselves demolish and vacate the illegal occupation.
“We have started a drive at the administrative level and these [illegal] structures are being demolished. People should give us time in vacating the occupation instead of taking law in their own hands,” said Malik.
The youth had started the demolition drive on their own on Sunday to widen the road that had shrunk at several places due to encroachments.
They had accused the administration of failing to get the encroachments removed despite several complaints.
They added that the drive will remain continue till we get rid of it.
