NAAC PEER team visited CUK from 21st to 23rd Sept

Srinagar: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) PEER team visited the Central University of Kashmir (CUK) from 21st to 23rd of September, 2017.
The six member team comprising B P Sanjay, former vice-chancellor Central University of Tamil Nadu (Chairperson), Shorosimohan Dan, pro-vice chancellor University of Burdwan, Sanjeev Sonvane, Department of Education and Extension, Ambedkar Bhawan Savitribai Phule Pune University, S C Bagri, former vice-chancellor Himgiri Zee University, Dean School of Management and Director Centre for Mountain Tourism and Hospitality Studies, HNB, Garhwal University, Ramaballav Roy, Department of Zoology Goa University, R G B Bhagavat Kumar, former vice-chancellor Damodaran Sanjivayya National Law University visited the Nowgam I,II and III academic campuses of the varsity. The team also visited the Sonwar Science block, Physical Education College Ganderbal (old campus) and the upcoming permanent campus of the university at Tulmulla Ganderbal.
During their visit to the campuses, the team interacted with the faculty, scholars, students, administrative staff, alumni and their parents, a statement issued by the university said here on Sunday.
Vice-Chancellor, Mehraj ud Din Mir gave a comprehensive presentation about the functioning of the university and informed the visiting team about the progress made on academics, administrative and infrastructure front.
Registrar, M Afzal Zargar, also gave a presentation and divulged details about the functioning of different administrative sections and departments. He in the capacity of in-charge, controller of examinations, gave a presentation and informed the team about the examination and evaluation pattern adopted by the university and shared other relevant details about the examination process.
Director Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) N A Nadeem, Director Research and Development, Abdul Gani, Deputy Registrar Finance, Javed Wani (on behalf of Finance Officer, Bashir Ahmad Haji), also gave detailed presentations about their respective departments.
Deans of schools, heads and coordinators of all the academic departments, chairpersons of different cells established by the university on the directions of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and University Grants Commission, also gave presentations about their functioning.
The committee visited all the 16 teaching departments and student service centers including boys and girls hostel, university canteen, faculty quarters, and the adopted schools especially Shafaqat special school at Bemina. CUK Chancellor, Srikumar Banerjee, also interacted with the NAAC PEER team members.
The exit meeting was also held on 23rd of September at Nowgam-II campus in which the report prepared by the NAAC PEER team was handed over to the vice-chancellor, Mehraj ud Din Mir, the statement said.
