Directs for connecting primary sector with secondary sector
KULGAM: District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Talat Parvez Rohella, who is also its chairman, Sunday chaired a meeting of the District Level Taskforce Committee.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, PO DRDA, district officers of KVIC, DIC and KVIB and representatives of various banks, a statement issued by the information department said.
The Committee cleared 84 cases amounting to Rs. 3.56 crore of three implementing agencies including KVIC, KVIB and DIC, catapulting the total sponsorship to an amount of Rs. 7.38 crore.
It was said that the clearance will provide employment to 867 unemployed youth in the district during the current financial year.
The Chairman called for a boost to the sector, saying that it will not only provide employment to the unemployed youth but also boost the economy through industrial growth.
He also emphasized the role of banks in facilitating financing to the interested entrepreneurs and directed the implementing agencies to pursue the cases with banking institutions so that prospective entrepreneurs can be facilitated.
