Cop averts casualties to over 12 colleagues in Sopore: Police

Srinagar: A Special Police Officer (SPO) on Sunday threw back a grenade hurled by militants from inside a force’s vehicle in north Kashmir’s Sopore town, averting casualties to over 12 colleagues.
But the grenade exploded in the return throw, injuring two special police officers (SPOs) of Police and a CRPF soldier, police said.
Suspected militants hurled the grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp near a State Bank of India branch at around 9:35 am.
