TRAL: A complete shutdown was observed in south Kashmir’s Tral sub-district on Friday against innocent civilian killings.
Two civilians–Rattandeep Kour alias Pinky Kour daughter of Ichpal Singh resident of Chattrogam and Ghulam Nabi Trag son of Ghulam Ahmad Trag resident of Tral-e-Payeen were killed after a grenade attack on the cavalcade of PDP leader and R&B minister Naeem Akhtar on Thursday. At least 30 persons including some forces personnel were also injured in the incident. The incident received widespread condemnation from the government, militant outfits and joint resistance leadership.
Meanwhile, the other 80 year old civilian, Ghulam Nabi Trag resident of Tral-e-Payeen who got killed was also regarded as one who raised two orphans of his missing son who was kidnapped by militants in early 1990s and never returned. He was so nice and pious that his grandchildren never realized the absence of their father, said a neighbour of affluent Trag family.
