State Football League: Jehangir Sports wins against IUST, 2 matches end in goalless draw

Srinagar: In the ongoing State Football League 2017, out of two matches played on Thursday, two ended in a draw while Jahangir Sports won by a solitary goal in the other match against Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) team.
In the first A-Division match, played at Polo Ground, Jahangir Sports defeated IUST by 1-0 in a closely contested affair. Both the teams played aggressive football throughout the match, but Rouf managed to score one goal for the winning team.
In Super-Division match played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Real Kashmir Red played a goalless draw with J&K Bank Academy. Both the team got several chances to score but wasted all those and the 0-0 scoreline at the end of the match was a fair result for both the teams.
The Premier-Division match also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, also ended in a draw between Lonestar KFC and State Football Academy. Saqib opened the account for Lonestar in the 29th minute of the game and they managed the lead till 60th minute. Safdar scored an equaliser for State Academy in the 60th minute and for rest of the match both the teams tried their best to take a lead, but when the refree blew the whistle, the scoreline read 1-1. Faisal of Lonestar team was declared as footballer of the match for his performance.
Meanwhile, the State Football League, a mega event first of its kind in the history of J&K football, is going on at different venues of the state with full swing drawing huge crowds to the football venues. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
