Srinagar: The Hizbul Mujahideen and the Lashkar-e-Toiba have condemned the grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Tral area.
Hizb chief Syed Salahuddin condemned the attack in which two persons were killed and several were injured on Thursday.
In a telestatement to KNS, Hizb spokesman Saleem Hashmi quoted Salahuddin as saying that the attack “is a handiwork of agencies and Hizb condemns such attacks”.
He said such attacks were being carried out only to distract the attention of the world community from the Kashmir issue.
Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba also condemned the deadly blast and claimed that it was perpetrated in reaction to the ongoing proceedings at the United Nations.
In an emailed statement to news agency GNS, LeT spokesperson Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi quoted the outfit’s chief, Mahmood Shah, to say that India can never sabotage the freedom struggle of Kashmir by such ‘cheap tactics’. “We will never allow such ill-fated plots to succeed,” he said.
Mahmood Shah expressed his deep grievance on the deaths of innocent Kashmiris and termed the attack as “an attack on the legitimate freedom struggle of Kashmir”.
The world’s humanitarian bodies are very well aware of India’s atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir, the LeT chief alleged, adding that “despite all the efforts, India will bite the dust”. “The shameful acts of Indian barbarism are no longer hidden from the world to witness,” he added.
Mahmood Shah expressed his utter support for the injured and prayed for their quick recovery.
