DeM alleges authorities plotting to kill her
SRINAGAR: Firebrand resistance leader and chairperson of Dukhtaran e Millat, Syedah Aasiyah Andrabi was not presented before the court in Srinagar on Thursday again, DeM General Secretary Nahida Nasreen said in a statement here.
Stating that Andrabi was not presented before the court on September 14, as well, Nasreen alleged that it was a “well thought out plan of the Government of India and particularly Mehbooba Mufti to kill Syedah Aasiyah Andrabi in prison”.
She said that apart from ignoring the Supreme Court guidelines of keeping detainees close to their homes, Andrabi was not being provided medical facilities as well.
“It is deliberately being done to keep Baji Sahiba away from her relatives and since the day she has been detained she has not been provided medical facilities. She is an asthma patient and at Amphala jail Jammu where the temperature is very hot and facilities are very meagre, her health is deteriorating,” the statement said.
It added that Andrabi’s health has worsened, her blood pressure risen, while asthma has taken a heavy toll. Doctors had prescribed certain tests including echo, which Nasreen said, could not be done.
Andrabi’s PSA was quashed on 29 August by a court in Srinagar, but since then “she has been detained without any case in Jammu jail”. “Her health had worsened that day when she was admitted at Chest Disease hospital Srinagar, but she was shifted from CD hospital in the dead of night to Amphalla Jail.”
