Young Lal Chowk, Real Kashmir FC draw their matches
Srinagar: In the ongoing State Football League event, A-Division, Super-Division and Premier Division matches were played at Polo Ground and Synthetic Turf TRC venues, here on Tuesday.
In the first A-Division match, played at Polo Ground, Fort View FC thrashed Al-Fatah FC by five goals to nil in a one-sided affair. Fort View played with aggression throughout the match and gave no chances to the opposition team.
In Super-Division match played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Young Lal Chowk played a goal less draw with Jhelum Sports. Both the teams got several opportunities to score but wasted those and at the end of the 90-minutes had to settle for a draw.
In Premier-Division match also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Real Kashmir FC played a goal less draw with Iqbal Sports. From the start of the play till the end, the spectators, who had turned in huge numbers, witnessed some spectacular football. Both the teams got several opportunities to score, but wasted those. Aqib from Iqbal Sports was declared as man of the match for his brilliant performance.
Meanwhile, State Football League, a mega event first of its kind in the history of J&K football, has received huge applauds from the thousands of fans across the state. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
