AS college emerge victorious against PG team in Yousuf Memorial Cup

Srinagar: Amar Singh College on Monday defeated Post Graduates team by 59 runs in the ongoing Prof Yousuf Memorial Inter College Cricket Cup .
In the third quarter final A S College won the toss, decided to bat first and scored 172 runs in 29.4 overs losing all wickets. For them Rahul Raees scored 87 runs in 64 deliveries and Asif Ramzan 24 in 42 deliveries.
For the P G team Shinain and Mehraj took three wickets each. Chasing a target of 173 runs P G batsmen couldn’t withstand the accurate bowling of A S College and could score 113 runs only in 23.3 overs.
For them Irfan scored 31 in 34 balls and Liyaqat scored 23 of 28 balls. For A S College Adil Bashir took four wickets while Aijaz Dar took 3 wickets.
At the start of the match the teams were introduced to the chief guest Prof. Muzafar Ahmed Khan the principal Islamia College of Science and Commerce.
Today Islamia College Alumni team will play against Gandhi Memorial College and the winners of that match will play in first semifinal on Wednesday against GDC Ganderbal.
The tournament is being organised by the department of Physical Education Islamia College Srinagar.
