“Khelo Sehat Ke Liye (Play for Health)” football tournament

Anantnag, Kulgam, Bandipora degree college win matches

Srinagar: In the ongoing “Khelo Sehat Ke Liye (Play for Health)” football tournament, matches were played different venues in Anantnag, Bandipora and Baramulla on Saturday.

In first match played at Anantnag Sports Stadium, Degree College Anantnag defeated Degree College Pulwama by2-0 goals. Azlam and Sameer were the scorers for the winning team.

In the second match at the same venue Degree College Kulgam defeated Degree College Bijbehara in a tie breaker after both the teams failed to score in the allotted time.

In the first match played at Bandipora, Degree College Bandipora defeated Physical Education College Ganderbal by three goals to one. In the second match SP College Srinagar failed to turn up at the venue and Degree College Ganderbal was awarded walkover.

At Baramulla, Degree College Sopore and Gandhi College Srinagar played a goal less draw in the allotted time. However, in tie breaker Sopore team won by 4-3. In the second match at the same venue, SSM College Pattan defeated Degree College Baramulla 4-3 in a tie breaker after both the teams failed to score in the allotted 90-minutes.

The tournament is being organised by the Health and Medical Education Department in association with the J&K Sports Council on knock-out basis.

The arrangements for the tournament have been made by the J&K Football Association in collaboration with Department of Health and Medical Education, Department of Higher Education, J&K Sports Council, National Health Mission and J&K State AIDS Control Society. The slogan of the tournament is “Khelo Sehat Ke Liye ”
