Joint Inspection Squad visits schools in Srinagar

16 absentee teachers placed under suspension in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: A joint inspection squad constituted by the District Development Commissioner Srinagar and Directorate of School Education Kashmir on Saturday visited several schools in and around the city to monitor attendance of the staff.
During the surprise inspection, 11 teachers of Government High School Hazratbal and 5 teachers of Government High School Saderbal were found on ‘unauthorized absence from duty’, a statement issued by the information department said.
On the recommendation of the inspection squad, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Srinagar ordered immediate suspension of these 16 teachers for dereliction of duties. An inquiry has also been ordered against the said teachers, the statement said.
