SRINAGAR: Asserting that Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has many pleasant surprises for girl students of Jammu and Kashmir, Minister for Education, Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday said girl students have “special status” under her leadership.
“Our government is focused on providing all facilities for girl students and Chief Minister herself is keen to implement various development programmes for the students,” a statement issued by the information department quoted Bukhari.
The statement said that Bukhari was speaking at the Annual Day function of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Amira Kadal where he was the chief guest.
The function was attended by Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah, Director Education, G N Itoo, Chairperson BOSE, Veena Pandita, Director Academics, BOSE, CEO Srinagar, Principals of various colleges and other concerned officials.
The Minister announced a fund of Rs 15 lakh for the school and said that an auditorium will be made, the laboratory will be upgraded and the better infrastructure will be provided to the students, said the statement. He said that extra-curricular activities are necessary for the overall development of students in addition to formal education.
