PAMPORE: Students of Government Degree College, Pampore on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest here against the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Hundreds of students assembled in the college campus and raised slogans in favour of Rohingya Muslims. They were carrying placards and banners reading ‘Stop killing of innocent Muslims in Burma’.
They sought the intervention of world leaders in stopping atrocities being committed on Muslims in Burma. “It is unfortunate that the world community is acting as mute spectator over the killings of Rohingya Muslims,” students said. “Despite ethnic cleansing in Burma, world leaders seem coordinating the sinister designs of Myanmar government.”
