Clashes erupt in Anantnag, internet services snapped

Srinagar: Soon after the news about the killing of two local militants spread in south Kashmir town of Anantnag, clashes erupted in Lalchowk and Reshi Bazar areas of the town, sources said.
Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that youth pelted stones on police and other forces deployed in the area, who retaliated with tear smoke shelling triggering clashes.
Two militants, Dawood Ahmad Illahi of Hawora Kulgam and Sayar Ahmad Wani of Wanpora Kulgam were killed in a gunfight in Khudwani area of Kulgam district early today.
According to police an OGW of militants identified as Arif Sofi was also arrested during the gunfight.
Meanwhile, mobile internet services have been suspended in Kulgam and Anantnag districts after the militant killings.
