Kashmir shuts against Rajnath’s visit

Srinagar: Kashmir valley is observing shutdown on Sunday against the visit of India’s home minister, Rajnath Singh, on the call of the joint resistance leadership.

Reports coming from district headquarters said that people are staying home while as traffic is off the roads and business establishments are closed.

Singh is on 4-day visit to J&K and is visiting district located in South of Srinagar including Anantnag.

The shops and business establishments are closed in Srinagar, however, there is light movement of vehicles in Batamaloo and Lal Chowk areas.

Reports coming from South Kashmir areas said that complete shutdown is being observed today against the visit of Singh who interacted with J&K police cops and CRPF personnel in Anantnag early today.

Sopore town is completely shut, reports added. There is thin movement of private traffic, they added.

Reports coming from Budgam said that the district is observing shutdown today, however, there is minor business going on in Magam and Beerwah areas.
