Srinagar: Government forces on Saturday laid siege to over 20 villages of Shopian and Kulgam districts in south Kashmir and started searches, sources said.
Local sources said that Army’s 62 RR, 9RR, CRPF and SOG early today launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a vast area.
The villages, according to sources, under CASO include Kader, Dadarkot, Akhipur, Khee Jogipura, Avhotu, Dangam, Wangam, Renipura, Mantribug, Zaipura, Partapura, Nanga Chek, Shahpura, Rambhama, Mohanpora, Khurampora, Rampora and other villages of Shopian and Kukgam districts.
Official sources told Kashmir Reader said that CASO was launched after inputs about the presence of militants.
As per local sources searches were going on in the said villages.
