Srinagar: Resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have decided to court arrest at NIA headquarters in New Delhi on September 9.
This was announced at a joint press conference by Mirwaiz and Malik at Jamia Masjid soon after the Zuhur prayers.
“We have decided to go to Delhi on Saturday and tell NIA people at their headquarters to arrest us as they have terrorized the whole Kashmiri nation,” Malik said. He equated the NIA with “Gabbar Singh” a notorious character of Hindi movie “Shollay”.
“We have even got the air tickets and we will march to NIA headquarters from New Delhi airport,” he said adding “this will be in protest against the terrorism of NIA”.
Pertinently, NIA has arrested seven pro-freedom leaders, two businessmen, a photojournalist and a common youth so far. The investigation agency which is probing an alleged funding case has also arrested a businessman.
