SRINAGAR: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) on Tuesday questioned the “illegal” imprisonment of party chairperson, Syeda Asiya Andrabi and her personal secretary, Sofi Fehmeeda in Ambphalla Jail, Jammu while expressing grave concern over the deteriorating health condition of the duo.
In a statement, DeM general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said the family members of Aasiya and Fehmeeda had gone to meet them on Monday and noticed that their health condition has deteriorated to a large extent. “When they (Andrabi Sahiba and Fehmeeda) were shifted from Kashmir to Jammu 5 days ago, they were extremely ill but despite that the puppets government shifted them to Jammu. The travel and the unhygienic conditions within the jail have (taken) further toll on their health condition, and as per family members, is extremely critical now,” she said.
Nasreen added, “The PSAs that were slapped against the duo have been quashed by the JK High Court. Why does government continue to illegally imprison them? If this puppet government (doesn’t) want to release them in clear disrespect to court orders, at least it should have kept them here as the lodgment in Jammu jail had expired.”
Meanwhile, Nasreen paid glowing tributes to militants Ishfaq Padder, who was killed in Kulgam on the day of Eid-ul Azha and Nayeem and Pervaiz who were killed in Sopore on Monday.
