SHOPIAN: Suspected militants shot at and injured a police officer in Haripora village of Shopian on Thursday.
Senior superintendent of police Shopian SA Dinkar told Kashmir Reader that sub-inspector Gowhar Ahmad Malla was shot in the left leg when he was out with friends. “He has a single bullet injury in the leg and he is stable,” Dinkar said.
Medical Superintendent Shopian Hospital Dr Nazir Ahmad said, “After first aid treatment, he was referred to Srinagar.”
Malla is a resident of Chotipora village in Imamsahib hamlet in Shopian. Local sources said that he was playing volleyball with friends at Haripora village.
