Ganderbal: In connection with National Consumers Rights Day, the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs on Tuesday organised a programme here on consumer rights.
The programme held at Mini Secretariat, DC Office Complex, Ganderbal, was aimed at making people aware about the consumer rights. A rally started from here which ended at Towheed Chowk in the district.
The participants in the rally chanted slogans Jago Grahak Jago and distributed pamphlets among people.
The rally was presided by Erim Aziz Khan, Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Ganderbal.
Khan said steps are being taken to initiate a ‘youth movement’ in Ganderbal for protection and promotion of consumer rights and interests.
She said youth should be aware (of consumer rights and interests) and guide others about their rights. “The empowerment of consumer is must to sustain a clean and credible consumer market relation,” she said.
