India-China Doklam stand-off ends, troop ‘disengagement’ begins

Srinagar: Media reports quoting a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) indicate that the months-long stand-off between India and China at Doklam has ended.
As per reports the MEA said an “expeditious disengagement of border personnel at the face-off site at Doklam has been agreed to and is on-going”.
“In recent weeks, India and China have maintained diplomatic communication in respect of the incident at Doklam. During these communications, we were able to express our views and convey our concerns and interests. On this basis, expeditious disengagement of border personnel at the face-off site in Doklam has been agreed-to and is ongoing,” the MEA said in a statement on Twitter.
The stand-off began on June 16 when a Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) team was spotted constructing a road on the Dolam plateau in the Doklam region.
