Srinagar: The services of Indian army’s para unit were used to fight three militats during Fidayeen attack in Pulwama on Saturday, police said.
Director General of J&K Police, Dr S P Vaid, told news gathering agency, ANI, “Para unit of army was used to flush out militants.”
He said that 36 families of police were also rescued from the gunfight site.
Three militants, who were non-Kashmiris, stormed the Pulwama district police lines around 4 am yesterday and gunfight concluded around 10 pm last night when third militant was declared dead.
Eight government forces personnel were killed while several others were injured the militant attack which was claimed by Jaish-e-Muhammad.
