Master’s grade faculty protests delay in confirmation

Srinagar: For four years, master grade faculty in education department have been waiting for ‘confirmation’ of their appointment. Almost 1300 such employees on Thursday protested in press enclave against the delay.
“We are working as in-charge masters (grade employees) since 2014. Four years have gone by, but we have not received our confirmation,” said Nisar Ahmad, one of the protesting employees. “We approached the offices of director education, sectary education, and even minister education, but till date we haven’t received our confirmation orders. There is red tape at play everywhere in the office of the Director School Education, that is why the delay.”
The protesters held ply-cards with slogans like “In-charge masters since 2014 what is the fun?”, and “Redtapism ko Khatam karo”.
“Higher officials assured that our demands will be fulfilled, but they have not been able to keep their promises,” NIsar Ahmad added.
Another protesting teacher, Mushtaq Ahmad, said, “In 2014, I was promoted to master grade but till this date my confirmation is pending. I request to the authorities to confirm us to master’s grade so that we receive our rightful salary.”
