SRINAGAR: In a nail biting finish Boy’s XI of Faculty of Veterinary Science beat Boy’s XI Faculty of Fisheries in the inaugural match of Sheri Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology, Kashmir (Sports Festival) Cricket tournament played at Shuhama on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 96 Fisheries XI openers provided a blistering start to their side and scored 50 runs in just four overs once both openers depart Fisheries XI lost momentum as they lost wickets in quick succession. Their batsmen threw away their wickets courtesy poor shot selection, Fisheries XI batting order was rattled by Junaid Ahmed claiming quick wickets.
In the last over Fisheries XI need 18 runs but managed to score only 12 runs losing the match by a margin of six runs.
Earlier after being put in to bat Veterinary Science XI put a decent total of 96 on the board in their allotted 12 overs.
On the inaugural ceremony first class cricketer Sayim Mustafa was the guest of honour while as SKUAST-K,Dean Students Welfare, Prof MAA Sidiqi was the chief guest.
