Budgam village shuts to remember 2016 killings

Budgam: Aripanthan village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district observed complete shutdown on Wednesday to remember the four civilians killed at the hands of government forces in 2016.
Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Javed Ahmad Najar, Manzor Ahmad Lone and Javed Ahmad Sheikh, all residents of Aripanthan Beerwah were killed after forces opened fire to disperse a protest march during last year uprising on August 16.
All shop, business establishments and educational institutes are shut while traffic is off the roads.
Pertinently, at least 100 civilians were killed by forces to quill the 2016 uprising triggered after the killing of popular Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Wani at the hands of forces.
