Budgam: Four CRPF soldiers and a policeman were injured in a grenade attack by militants in Kanihama Magam area of Budgam on Monday afternoon, police said.
Superintendent of Police, Budgam, Tejinder Singh, told Kashmir Reader that a grenade was lobbed on at a joint party of police and the CRPF at Kanihama in the afternoon, resulting into injury to five personnel.
A police official said that the injured were removed to Primary Health Centre Narbal where from they were referred to SKIMS Bemina for further treatment.
Medical officer, Narbal, Dr Masrat said one among the wounded CRPF personnel had received grievous injury.
Meanwhile, the Lashkar-e-Toiba claimed responsibility for the attack on the government forces.
In a statement to GNS, LeT spokesman Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi appreciated the attackers for carrying out the attack despite stringent security arrangements and warned of similar attacks.
