SRINAGAR: Kashmir University and Islamic University have decided to suspend class work today.
As per official statement of Kashmir University, the class work in all teaching departments shall remain suspended today while all examinations scheduled for the day are postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately. However, the official work in all departments/administration shall be carried out as usual, the statement said.
“It is notified for the information of all the concerned that the class work shall remain suspended at Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora on 14th of August, 2017,” said a spokesperson of the varsity without assigning any reason.
The administration of three main colleges in Srinagar has decided to close the teaching institutes today.
“Teaching activity will remain suspended in Islamia College, Amar Singh College, Gandhi College, SP School and MP School tomorrow,” said Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone said on Sunday.
However, the official did not explain the reasons of the closure.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Ganderbal has said class work shall remain suspended in Govt Degree College Ganderbal and Degree College Kangan today.
Sources in the government said the decision has been taken in the backdrop of killing of three Hizb militants on Sunday.
