Civilian injured in grenade attack dies

Srinagar: The civilian injured in a grenade attack at a police naka at Dalgate on Saturday evening died this morning at SKIMS, police said.
A police official told Kashmir Reader that Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, resident of Hawal, Srinagar, who was injured during a grenade “explosion” near Budyari Chowk, Dalgate, and was admitted to SMHS Hospital was referred to SKIMS Soura in the wee hours of Sunday morning, but he succumbed there to his injuries.
Kashmir IGP Munir Ahmad Khan told Kashmir Reader on late Saturday evening that militants had hurled a grenade at a police naka at Dalgate.
“The militants hurled the grenade when they saw the naka (of police),” Khan had said. “If the police naka was not there, the militants would have gone inside (the market).”
Reports said that the funeral prayers of Imtiyaz were held at 10:30am today.
