Srinagar: Government forces launched cordon and search operation (CASO) in a few areas of Budgam and Ganderbal districts in central Kashmir on Sunday.
Army and SOG personnel cordoned off Dalwash village in Budgam.
“Search operation going on,” police sources said, “there are special inputs about (presence of) militants.”
In Ganderbal, government forces cordoned off forest area in Poshkar Kangan and conducted searches as they suspected the presence of militants.
Official sources said that the contingents of army 24RR and Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K police cordoned off forest area of Poshkar and started searches.
A police official while confirming the cordon-and-search operation said that after receiving inputs about movement of militants, forces conducted search operation in the forest area.
They said that the search operation continued for more than two hours and was called off “without any result”.
