Baramulla shuts, mourns militant killings

Baramulla: A complete shutdown is being observed in Baramulla district, in the north of Srinagar, on Sunday against the killing of three militants a day earlier.

Three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants were killed on Saturday morning in Amargah area of apple town Sopore.
Eye witnesses said that complete strike is being observed in Baramulla and its adjoining areas on the second day to mourn the death of Javid Ahmad Dar of Khanpora, one of the three slain LeT militants.

Mobile telephony and internet services in north Kashmir has been suspended except for the state run BSNL network.
Reports of shutdown also poured in from Sopore on second day to mourn the death of the three militants.

Some minor incidents of stone pelting reported from various parts of Sopore town.

The government has made heavy deployment of armed forces personnel across the town to thwart any protests.
Another militant belonged to restive Hajin town of Bandipora district while third militant has not been identified yet.
