Srinagar: Protests were held by the students of Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar Saturday after the news about the killing of a Hajin militant spread in the premises.
The protesting students claimed that slain Abid Hamid Mir of Hajin Bandipora, was their classmate and a student in second year of B.Com.
The protesting students assembled in the premises and started marching raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, reports said.
Scores of students also tried to move out of the college however, a posse of forces police stationed outside the college intercepted them, triggering minor clashes.
The college administration intervened and pacified the protesting students, reports said. Sources said that majority of the students later left the college.
