Low capacity transformer irks Kreeri residents

Baramulla: The residents of Rehmatabad colony of Kreeri in Baramulla district took to streets on Thursday to protest against Power Development Department (PDD).
The residents complained that the area had only a low-capacity transformer to cater the needs of big locality.
The inhabitants alleged that department was adopting delaying tactics in repairing the defunct transformer and restoring electricity to the area.
Despite repeated requests to higher authorities to redress their issues nothing has been done so far, they said adding they are left with no option but to come out on roads.
Superintendent Engineer (SE) of power development department north Kashmir, Bashir Ahmed Baba, told Kashmir Reader that he would look into the matter.
