Kulgam areas shut against alleged thrashing of Hizb militant’s family

Srinagar: Government forces last night allegedly thrashed a Hizb militant’s family and ransacked their households in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The incident took place in Rampora village of Qaimoh area in Kulgam district resulting in complete shutdown in Qaimoh and Khudwani area on Thursday.
Forces allegedly barged into the residence of the Hizb militant Tawseef Ahmad Sheikh and thrashed the whole family.
“They (Police and forces) not only thrash us but also pelted stones on our house,” Tawseef’s family members told Kashmir Reader.
“They beat Tawseef’s ailing elder sister who had gone through surgery only recently, his mother and two other sisters,” they alleged.
The family also alleged that men in uniform damaged their property during the nocturnal raid.
Soon after the news about the thrashing of Tawseef’s family at the hands of forces spread, shopkeepers pulled down their shutters in the nearby Qaimoh and Khudwani areas.
