Bar condemns killings, thrashings, Castigates, Rahul’s statement

Srinagar: J&K High Court Bar Association Srinagar has condemned the “targeted killing” of 20-year-old Tanveer Ahmad Wani and injuring of another youth at Beerwah Budgam by 53 RR.
In a statement issued here, the Bar also condemned the death of a minor girl in an accident involving an Army vehicle at Agular Shopian and injuring of about 40 persons, who were protesting against the incident.
The Bar also ridiculed the statement of Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, in which he has stated that “Kashmir is India” and “India is Kashmir” and that it is our “internal matter” and our “internal business” and no one should interfere in it.
The statement reminded Gandhi that it on November 4, 1947 Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru wrote to Liaqat Ali Khan of Pakistan that Indian government has “no desire to impose our will on Kashmir, but to leave the final decision to its people and that we have agreed on impartial international agency like UN to supervise the referendum in Kashmir.”
Earlier on October 26, 1947, Nehru wrote to British Prime Minister, Clement Attlee that the question of aiding Kashmir “is not designed to influence the State to accede to India” and that “the question of accession in any disputed territory or state must be decided in accordance with the wishes of the people and we adhere to this view”.
