Prayers not allowed in Jamia Masjid Srinagar for 4th straight week

Srinagar: Authorities on Friday again not allowed weekly congregational prayers at historic jamia masjid Srinagar, sources said. This is is fourth consecutive Friday when weekly prayers were not allowed in the jamia.
Local sources told Kashmir Reader that the outer gate of Jamia Masjid was padlocked early today and large police and forces personnel were deployed in the area to prevent people from reaching the worship place.
“All roads leading to the Jamia have been sealed and concertina wires have been erected at the entry and exit points,” witnesses said.
Resistance leaders had called for protest march upto the office of the UN Military Observers Group.
