SRINAGAR: Leader of Opposition Omar Abdullah on Monday asked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to explain how China was involved in the internal affairs of Kashmir, a statement earlier made by her.
“How is China involved in Kashmir? This must be discussed in Parliament. And why did the CM talk about China? How much is China involved in the internal affairs of Kashmir, we all should know,” Omar said while talking to reporters outside the Legislative Assembly.
“Till now she (Mehbooba) was blaming Pakistan for worsening the situation in Kashmir. Now China is being blamed. We don’t know which third country will be blamed for Kashmir. I never talked about China (when I was chief minister),” Omar said.
Mehbooba had recently said that China had begun to interfere in Jammu & Kashmir, complicating the situation in the state.
Omar said that external affairs should be left to the government of India. “It is the failure of the chief minister that the situation is deteriorating in the state. She should do her own job right, leaving Pakistan and China to the centre,” he said.
