Major injured by his own weapon during search op

Srinagar: An army officer was injured on Sunday when his service weapon went off accidentally during a cordon and search operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, the police said.
Security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in Kangnoo village of Shopian following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.
Major Praveen, who suffered injury in his leg, was rushed to 92 base hospital here, the official said.
