SRINAGAR: Junior employees in education department of Budgam district have alleged that inaction of Directorate of School Education was holding up their promotion.
An order (order no 2150 DSEK) for the promotion of the junior employees was issued on 7th November 2013, but the file for its implementation is yet to be signed by Director of School Education.
The employees said, “Earlier, the directorate had said that our issues will be taken up immediately and will be resolved, but no action has been taken yet. We are tired of making countless visits to directorate.”
According to the employees, the file has been making rounds of the tables in the directorate. “We are being told there that the file is being checked by some officers but until we grease their palms, no conclusion will be drawn,” one of the employees said, adding “There are some employees who will retire after two years but are yet to get promotion.”
Informed sources in the education department said that there are 21 vacancies for laboratory assistant post in promotion quota. Similarly for the post of junior assistant, four vacancies fall in the promotion quota and for the library assistant, six vacancies fall under promotional quota.
Director of School Education, GN Itoo, said, “We have called for a meeting on Tuesday to settle the issue.”
