SHOPIAN: Police on Friday morning arrested driver of ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legislator Aijaz Ahmad Mir for questioning. The police did not specify reasons for the driver’s arrest.
A police source said Touseef Ahmad was picked up by police Friday morning for “questioning”.
Senior superintendent of police Shopian, Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar, said Touseef was summoned for questioning and they have nothing yet to make public. “I will be able to comment on the case when the investigation reaches at particular stage,” he said and added that police didn’t arrest the driver but only detained him for questioning.
Touseef, a resident of Chakura Pulwama, had been deputed as driver with the MLA some seven months ago from security wing of J&K police.
The source said police have arrested two more persons along with Touseef for their alleged involvement in the same case.

“We are investigating both the issues,” Dinkar said.
