Who hasn’t enjoyed college days? Those moments make us nostalgic every now and then. By chance as well as by choice, I would like to offer my thanks to all my friends for being there at every moment. The everlasting memories remain etched in my heart. The memories of those bunks and C=chit chats with friends will keep on popping up so often. I hope those friends will be always with me like the memories will be.
In college days, no one has a glimpse of the happenings that break out all of a sudden when one completes graduation. It is in the nature of an initiation of a new chapter in life- rather a whole new life, where one must act wisely or one ends up pent-up.
Every year thousands of graduate pass from different colleges of the state in varying capacities, who then desire to pursue Masters degrees either professional or non professional at a university they prefer. Most of the students prefer the University of Kashmir(KU), as the basic plus point of the university is that it is not too far away from our homes. Every one gears up for a Masters programme applies for entrance test in the Kashmir University, Young students come up with all intense endeavours for a masters degree in their favourite capacity. But due to the limited number of seats in every department at KU, not everyone gets selected in his or her subject.
I had opted for Mass Communication and Journalism at KU, which I qualified for with Almighty’s Grace. All friends of mine who had lately completed degrees at KU, recommended to put in all alacrity of endeavours to qualify these entrance test, because these are the best years of life. Whatever one experiences at university is ever lasting- the friends, the experiences and what have you.
The first day in college or at a university is always very exciting because of the new environment, new people and obviously the new educational system. That is why, it was a very good and lovely morning when I was about to leave home for my first day at my university. Excitement was at its peak and adrenaline was flowing through me intensely. I was thrilled as well as slightly nervous regarding the new environment and even a little sad that my previous friends and class fellows were no longer my class fellows now, but that is just life as people leave but new friends are being made constantly.
This is a perfect time to quote Christian D. Larson “Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” At a juncture like this you need to motivate yourself.
All the way to my university, several things were going through my mind regarding the new university, new friends and teachers and how I would be able to come up with the adjustments. Due to the fear of reaching late during my first day, I reached one hour earlier. .
As soon as I reached the campus my eyes glowed as I saw the enormous and extraordinary crafted campus of my university. My first day went as smoothly just as how I had desired and wanted . I now fervently believe that choosing this University was and continued to one of the best decisions I have made in my life and I hope that this campus would live up to my expectations.
